I can’t find the words cause they fell out my mouth…

Thinking about how much I really want to see a RAWK renassiance I was inspired to hunt down some Butch Walker.  Simply put, Marvelous 3 brought a HUGE “arena” rock feel to all of their shows.  Since then Butch has been damned near Bowie-esque in his growth and redefinition of himself as an artist.  If Guitar Hero existed when “Ready Sex Go” came out, M3 would have become the biggest band on the planet.  I’m certain of it!

Butch is responsible for some of the best lyrics ever. EVER. He writes great arena RAWK songs, snotty “screw you songs” and some of the best break-up music EVAR (sic).

BTW, I’m basically spending more time today on YouTube than I am doing anything productive. So, in an attempt to feel productive I’m going to consider this “Music Education” for everyone that reads this site.

Witness the awesome after the jump.

Seriously, how brilliant are lines like these??

“Oh, don’t turn around and say bye again
Yeah it crushes my head when you call me your friend

and I’m not the same person
From back in the day in the back of the class
That you thought was gay

No I can’t find the words cause I lost them
The minute they fell out of my mouth
And it’s love and I’m in it,

so give me your lips
And just let me kiss ‘em
And let’s get messed up and listen to probably…
The best mixtape I have”

And then there’s this classic:

“She said I was cold as hell, but hell’s not cold…
I know, I know…
‘Cause I’ve been there for the last half hour or so…
And the devil said it never snows…”

And this. which rumor has it was written during a gnarly divorce:

“And I hope that you’re flattered
Cause you broke this down
You broke this down
The best thing, the best thing,
The best thing that you never had

You never had…”

Onto the vids:

Kinda creepy vid, great song: Mixtape by Butch Walker

This video, song, album, hell, ALL of it RULES!!  “My brother is a RAWKSTAR!”  Freak of the Week: Marvelous 3

I’m pretty sure he produced this album for Kelly Clarkson.  I prefer his version.  This gets regular play on my iPod.  Since You’ve Been Gone: Butch Walker (live)
